Default Coolest poker story I've heard in a while

(Didn't see this one first-hand, but I believe it.)

Two players involved in the showdown: Seat 8 and Seat 9.

The board: Four spades and a blank.

Seat 9 turns up his cards. He has the 2 for a flush.

We now wait for Seat 8 to turn up his cards, or to throw them away.

Seat 8 slides his cards face down to the player in Seat 7, and says, "Turn my cards up!" Seat 7 politely declines.

Seat 8 then slides his cards over to the player in Seat 6, and urges him, "Turn my cards up!" Seat 6 also declines to get involved.

So Seat 8 slides his cards over to Seat 9 (his opponent in this hand), and urges him, "Turn my cards up!"

Seat 9 picks up the cards, and throws them face down into the muck.

Seat 8 goes crazy, retrieves his cards from the muck, turns them up (he has a bigger spade, of course), and places his arms on the table, to stop the dealer from pushing the pot to Seat 9.

The floor is called. He rules that Seat 8's cards are dead; he awards the pot to Seat 9; and he encourages Seat 8 to protect his hand in the future.

Seat 9 is the man lol..

Seat 8 gets a kick in the nuts, seat 9 gets a pat on the back.

Only thing better would have been if seat 9 peeked before he mucked 'em.

Great storie and probably true. Once the cards are in the muck the hand is certainly dead.
