hit and run: a strategy used by strong players where they drop into a game, scoops a few big hands and then drop out; particularly used in busy poker rooms online where a skilled player can use the high percentage of fish to allow them to repeat the process over and over.

I don't understand why if the table is full of fish you wouldn't want to just stay at the table! And if it's because they'll get to know you're good... well .. if they're really fish... they won't..

I thought the bad players did this more often than the good players. After they take a pot from a good player they'll hit and run because they:
a) don't like the person they took it from and want to just sit back and taunt them without having to jeopardize their money.
b) don't want to lose what they just won because they are not confident in their abilities

I've often seen players come into a game and be there only long enough to grab a big pot or two and then they're gone. If you stick around long enough they'll often be back in a few hours. It is too systematic to be a bad players fluke. I think the reason they move on is because a big hit like that scares the fish.
