Some of my friends and I play Texas Holdem every once in a while. We are by no means professionals yet... :) !! Last night we were playing a friendly game and ran into a situation. Although I know that wild cards are very rarely played in Texas Holdem, we sometimes choose a wild card just for fun. Last night in one of our hands, 4's were wild. There were two 4's on the table and one guy had the other two 4's in his hand. Another guy had two Aces in his hand. Who won the hand?? I thought that the four Aces would win, but everyone else argued that because the one guy had four REAL 4's he won. Here's how the hands looked: REMEMBER 4's WERE WILD!!!!!

(First guys hand)
4 4

(TABLE) Q 8 4 4 2

A A
(Other guys hands)

SO WHO SHOULD HAVE WON THE POT?????????????????????????????????

When you use wild cards, you need to add a hand in the "Rankings of Hands" list: Five of a Kind. Five of a Kind beats everything, even a Royal.

In this case, the first player has five Queens (he can let all his fours be Queens). The second player has four Aces.

Thank you so much. I did not realize we could have added a rank to the "ranking of hands". This answers our question and few others that we had too!! :) :) :)
