Our standing rules for the 'invitational' events is that they're open to any and all members who:

a) have been members for at least two weeks before the freeroll was announced.

b) are active members in that they visit and contribute to the forums regularly.

c) are members in good standing (ie not "Suspended" or the like).

If you qualify for an event we'll send you an invitation via Private Message (PM). You must have PMs enabled in order to receive these invitations and the passwords we send out to members who confirm their attendance.

If you're planning on attending the event please confirm via PM and we'll forward you the final table details once we have them in hand.

PS. "Contributing" to the forum means more than just "please can I have the password to the freeroll" type posts. If you are genuinely interested in being part of the freerolls then we're sure you can find something meaningful to post about.

If you're wondering how to enable your PMs try this:

1) Go to http://mb.pokerforum.com/profile.html?do=editoptions

2) Scroll down to the "Messaging & Notification" box.

3) In that box you'll see an option labelled "Enable Private Messaging". Check the box.

4) Press the "Save Changes" button at the bottom. You should be good to go.

If for some reason you wish to _disable_ your PMs repeat the above but in step (3) uncheck the "Enable Private Messaging" box.

maybe we should have another small rule to the freeroll entry - your posting history should be beyond only posts related to getting invites to the freerolls...just a thought.

You've got to be kidding me! You registered the day of the freeroll, drop a bunch of miscellaneous posts and ask to be invited!?! Did you even read the rules posted here? What part of the first item "must have been member for at least two weeks before the freeroll was announced" didn't you understand? Jeez!

As always the bottom line is that the freerolls are for our loyal, contributing members. That does not include people who just drop in for the freerolls. I think our regular members would rather cancel an event than have it stuffed with people they've never heard of or will ever see again. Correct me if I'm wrong on that guys but until I hear different that's the apprach we'll be taking on this.

i haven't been a longtime member, but I like your rules ( although i didnt for the first two weeks of membership lol) i agree though only contributing members should be given the password to the freeroll. Plus someone leeked the password a few weeks back and i highly doubt it was a contributing member because the freeroll went fine last night, 17 showed up and i have seen most of them here before.............

Try contributing to the forum and you will be invited to lots of them.. The site doesn't want lurkers dropping in simply for the freerolls..

I think I still qualify but am not sure. Is there a way we can easily tell if we are still on the invitational list?

Click on your user name and it will bring up your profile.

If your number of posts --assuming they are not just "gimme password" posts-- is increasing you're in good shape.

If your "Last Activity" is recent you're in good shape.

If you are not listed as "New User" you are in good shape.

I hope that answers your question.

Who really gives a damn about the freeroll anyway? The same type of money grubbing newbies keep popping up begging and pleading for the freeroll password like it's the fcking holy grail. Get a clue.

Ya it reminds me of highschool and I always had my own smokes.. The leaches come outa the wood work.. You people need to give you heads a shake, this site isn't freeroll central they are provided for people that participate in this forum, simple as that. I would like to say thanks 4 having invites to freerolls. i would never have known about this site untill i came across it on Mansion. I hope to find value on this site.

The way that the passwords are handled at this site keep the phishing for passwords from happening like at other sites. I have seen too much of that at some of the other sites and too many players at what is supposed to be tourneys for forum members is just another freeroll madhouse with all the all-in-cowboys that go along with most freerolls. Thank you.

The passwords are hidden in coded words within the forum pages.

But even if we don't get a freeroll, i'll still be sticking around. There may be more people on other poker forums but here you seem to get better responses and it's more like a smaller group that sticks together and helps out each other!

Yeah I think the FR's are just so we can generate interest from other people. That's how I was brought in. It's always nice to play against the people that you post with, too. :D

I agree the group that we have here are entertaining and very good poker minds for the most part. I find the bigger sites are mainly full of crap and braggards and alot of BS..

Freerolls are nice and like someone else said its cool to play against fellow posters to see how you match up game wise as compared to game knowledge.

With freerolls come the lurkers and its nice to hear that they attract people that are willing to particpate in the site to keep it going..

Stars is likely the best place to have them at this point..
